For non-conductive cap materials any shielded sensor (C1xxxxxx-x) will do it. For metal or foil caps, an unshielded sensor is probably best.

Not shown, is another Stedham Electronics capacitive proximity sensor which detects the bottle as shown in the bottle detection example.The two sensors would be wired in an "and" logic.
